Matthew's expertise focuses primarily on bankruptcy, consumer protection, and civil litigation. He represents individual clients and small to medium sized businesses clients in this area. Prior to joining DC Law Group, Matthew worked in the misdemeanor unit at a local Public Defense firm litigating various family & criminal cases and represented many low income clients with disabilities.
In addition, Matthew volunteers his spare time with the First Responders Clinics sponsored by the Washington State Bar Association, in conjunction with the nationally recognized Wills for Heroes program that was created in wake of 9/11. At these Pro-Bono clinics, Matthew & many other attorneys provide Wills, Trusts, Power of Attorney documents & Healthcare Directives to local police officers, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians & other emergency response personnel. Matthew is also well versed with Indian Reservation Tribal Law, specifically the American Indian Probate Reform Act of 2004 (AIPRA).
Community involvement has always been on Matthew's agenda, as he recognizes the importance of giving back. That’s why he continues to mentor local high school & college students on his free time.
Matthew is licensed to practice law in Washington, including the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and also The U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington, the Washington State Bar Association, North American South Asian Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association of Washington, King County Bar Association, and Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association.
